The tea ceremony is a type of education meant to develop all the individual talent, it’s the search for a higher level of knowledge, spirituality and inner freedom.
The habit of drinking tea developed in China throughout the centuries gaining different and more difficult features and becoming an offering to Buddha at the Chinese monasteries.

The traditional Urasenke school introduces this suggestive ritual with explanations on the meaning of the gestural expressiveness.
 
 
  The tea ceremony, as it’s known nowadays, is due to one of the most renowned personalities of the XVI century cultural field: Sen Rikyu (1522-1591).
 
 

Wa, harmony, applies to the relationship that has to exist in human relationships, between human beings and nature, in the choice of the objects exploited.

 

Kei, respect, applies to all things, as sincere gratitude for their existence: what spurs to deeply feel each person’s heart and the essence of the surrounding things.
 

 

Sei, pureness, applies to all that is physical and spiritual considering the pure and sacred essence of all things, man and nature.
 
 

Jaku, calmness, a condition of spiritual peace that comes thanks to a continuous practice of the first three principles of daily life.
